Class summaries: the lesson, written down

Most of what happens in a lesson is forgotten within days. A written summary keeps it. Students on regular lessons receive a personalized summary after class, built around their own mistakes, words and goals.

For students

A class summary is a personal study guide made from your own lesson. Depending on what we worked on, it typically includes:

  • Corrections: the actual sentences you said or wrote, with the improved version beside them
  • New vocabulary and expressions that came up, with meanings and examples
  • Pronunciation and delivery notes for speaking and presentation students
  • Grammar feedback explained clearly, with examples
  • Homework and next steps so you know exactly what to practice

Over weeks, the summaries become a record of your progress: which mistakes have disappeared, and which still need attention.

For parents

For younger students, the summary is written for parents. It's a short, readable account of the session in plain language, not a grade sheet. It typically covers:

  • The writing warm-up and what the student produced
  • What we read, and how well it was understood
  • What we discussed, and how the student expressed their ideas
  • How the student engaged, and what helped
  • Homework, and the plan for next time

Why it matters

Parents can see what is happening in lessons without sitting in on them. Students have something to review before the next lesson. And progress that is easy to miss week to week becomes visible over a month.

Students can also log in to their student dashboard to see their summaries and progress in one place.
