What I bring to tutoring

Each of my three specialties rests on real training and experience.

Oxford-trained reading and writing

I studied law at New College, Oxford, where close reading and precise argument are everything. That is what I teach in grammar and literature lessons.

Counseling and psychology training

A psychology degree and a master's in clinical mental health counseling (in progress, 4.0 GPA) prepare me to work with autistic learners, ADHD, anxiety and other additional needs.

Seventeen years of leadership

Director-level roles in healthcare, insurance and professional services. I know how confident, eloquent professionals speak, because I've led teams and boardrooms.

Students stay, and they make progress

My rate is a premium one, and students and parents tell me it's worth it.

I had a very good experience with Jeff and made very rapid progress! I like the format of his classes, his personality, and his teaching style. You quickly feel at ease with Jeff. I highly recommend him.

Mattias, Adult student

Jeffrey was well prepared and did a great job of drawing on my son's interests and keeping him engaged throughout the lesson. My son looks forward to the next class each time. It's important to have a teacher who really connects with the student, not just gives lessons. My son and I are happy to have found Jeffrey as his English teacher.

Mina, Parent of a young student

Jeffrey is an incredible teacher! His modern method uses videos on all kinds of topics to spark exciting discussions. His personalized, precise feedback promotes progress and boosts confidence. He guides conversations that are as enriching on a human level as they are for learning English. I recommend him 2000%!
